Cañamomo

Cañamomo is located in the Cañamomo-Lomaprieta Indigenous Reservation, western Caldas. The reserve has suffered the consequences of extensive cattle ranching, sugar cane, and coffee cultivation, resulting in the loss of large forest areas. Our partner WCS has worked in the region since 2022 in collaboration with the Colombian Ministry of Environment. Through Football for Forests, intensive restoration will be carried out on 26 pitches of degraded pastures or abandoned cultivation areas, and previously restored areas will be maintained.
